FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN FORT WAYNE RETURNS INDICTMENT


Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

 

Lakeshia Dominguez, 32, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced on 6/2/10 by Judge Theresa Springmann to 100 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.

 

Curtis Ray Allen, 57, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced on 5/27/10 by Judge Theresa Springmann to 97 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to counts one and two of an indictment charging him with receipt and production of child pornography and possession of child pornography. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

William Sherman Smith, Jr., 39, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced on 5/27/10 by Judge Theresa Springmann to 120 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to counts 1, 2 and 7 of the indictment charging him with fraud with identification documents, aggravated identity theft, and utter/possess a counterfeit security. Smith was ordered to pay $187,815.20 in restitution. This case was investigated by the United States Secret Service and the Logansport Police Department, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.

 

Bernard Squires, 65, of Columbia City, Indiana, was sentenced on 6/7/10 by Judge Theresa Springmann to 151 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to distribution of material depicting sexual exploitation of minors. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crimes Task Force, the Hamilton County Metro Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Police Department, and the Indiana State Police. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

            Jerome Dowdell, 20, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, plead guilty on 6/10/10 before Judge Theresa Springmann to count two of an indictment charging him with possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco, and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.


            The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
