FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN FORT WAYNE RETURNS INDICTMENTS


Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Fort Wayne, Indiana, returned the following Indictments on March 24, 2010:

 

ANTONIO CUEVAS DELGADO, age 31, of Chicago, Illinois, is charged in a three count Indictment two counts of distribution of controlled substances on March 5 and March 11, 2010; and one count of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance on March 18, 2010. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.

 

PRIMITIVO AVILES FLORES, age 32, of Portland, Indiana, is charged in a three count Indictment with two counts of distribution of controlled substances on February 11 and March 4, 2010; and one count of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance on March 16, 2010. The Indictment also seeks the forfeiture of U.S. currency. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the FBI’s Fort Wayne Safe Streets Task Force, comprised of agents of the FBI, and officers from the Indiana State Police, Allen County Police Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, and assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division, Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, Allen County Drug Task Force, and the Portland Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.

 

OSCAR GUTIERREZ LOPEZ, age 31, of Portland, Indiana, is charged in a two count Indictment with one count of distribution of a controlled substance on March 4, 2010; and one count of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance on March 16, 2010. The Indictment also seeks the forfeiture of U.S. currency. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the FBI’s Fort Wayne Safe Streets Task Force, comprised of agents of the FBI, and officers from the Indiana State Police, Allen County Police Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, and assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division, Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, Allen County Drug Task Force, and the Portland Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.

 

 


RODNEY L. POPE, age 43, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged in a single count Indictment with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance on February 15, 2010. This charge was filed as the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.

 

CARLOS ALEJANDRO RAMIREZ, age 32, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged in a two count Indictment with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance between July 20, 2009, and continuing to on or about August 24, 2009, and distribution of a controlled substance on August 5, 2009. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Fort Wayne Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.

 

TERRY L. SABO, SR., age 50, of Warsaw, Indiana, was charged in a three count Indictment with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and felon in possession of firearm all occurring on February 12, 2010. The Indictment also seeks the forfeiture of firearms, ammunition and U.S. currency. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, United States Marshal’s Service and the Kosciusko Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

 

The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an Indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
