ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - FORT WAYNE


Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

 

James Groover II, 24, of Dunkelberg Road., Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 48 months imprisonment, 3 years of supervised release, and $46,883.05 in restitution, after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with arson of a credit union building. This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Fort Wayne Fire Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert Trgovich.

 

Brent Scribner, 27, of N. Clinton, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge William Lee to 70 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Scribner was convicted of felony auto theft in 2007. This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.

 

Jacob Allgeier, 22, of S. R. 930 E., New Haven, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge William Lee to 33 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with bank robbery by force or violence of Salin Bank. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

Gregory Walker, 29, of Arlene Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge William Lee to 101 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to counts 6s and 7s of an indictment charging with him possession with the intent to distribute controlled substances (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine and N-Benzylpiperazine), and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime . This case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.

 

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
