ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - FORT WAYNE
Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:
Damein Trimm, 28, of the 6000 block of Revere Place, Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Judge Theresa Springmann to counts one and two of an indictment charging him with distribution of cocaine, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Trimm was previously convicted of operating while intoxicated in 2006. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.
Jerome Dowdell, 20, of the 8000 block of Bridgeview Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 60 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count two of an indictment charging him with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. This case was the result of an investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.
The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
