ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - HAMMOND
Hammond, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:
Daniel Kawzinski, 50, of the 2000 block of Riverside Drive, Lake Station, Indiana, was sentenced by to 36 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to counts 2,3,4,5,7 & 8 of an indictment charging him with drug trafficking (marijuana), making false representations with respect to a Social Security account number with intent to deceive, and making false and fictitious material statements and representations in matters within the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the Government of the United States. This case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Homeland Security Investigations, and the Lake Station Police. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jill Trumbull-Harris.
