WEEK IN REVIEW - FORT WAYNE



            Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

 

            James Williams, 25, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to count one of an indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.

 

            Josiah Davis, 26, of Ashley, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 97 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to counts one and two of an indictment charging him with possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of a controlled substance and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

            Samuel Miller, 26, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to counts one and two of an indictment charging him with robbery of a controlled substance. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

            Damian Miller, 29, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to counts one and two of an indictment charging him with robbery of a controlled substance. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

            Cornell Fowlkes, 39, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 70 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count eight of an indictment charging him with distribution of crack cocaine. This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.

 

            Gena Emerick, 45, of Bryan, Ohio, was sentenced by Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to one year of probation and $300 in restitution after pleading guilty to count one of an Information charging her with misappropriation of Postal funds. This case was the result of an investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lovita Morris King.

 

            Lamontae White, 23, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to count one of an indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert Trgovich.

 

               

            The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
