WEEK IN REVIEW – FORT WAYNE

 

 

            Fort Wayne, Indiana —The United States Attorney’s Office announced the following activity in Federal Court:

 

DISPOSITIONS:

 

Ø  Jennifer Santiago, 33, of Milford, Indiana, was sentenced by District Judge Theresa L. Springmann to serve 135 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of knowingly or intentionally distributing cocaine and knowingly selling a firearm to a convicted felon.  This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Kosciusko County Task Force.  This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Gellar.

 

Ø  Kristen A. Hitzfield, 23, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by District Judge Theresa L. Springmann to serve 12 months and 1 day with 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of making a false statement regarding the true purchaser of a firearm.  According to documents filed in this case, Hitzfield purchased three 9mm firearms for actual use by other individuals.  One of the weapons was utilized in a robbery.  This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.
