Overland Park Man Pleads Guilty To Producing Child Pornography
KANSAS CITY, KAN. – A Shawnee Mission man has pleaded guilty to a charge of producing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.
In his plea, Steven Miller, 30, Shawnee Mission, Kan., admitted that investigators found child pornography he produced on computer hard drives. The photos showed Miller sexually abusing a three-year-old boy. The abuse took place in 2003 while Miller was living in Overland Park, Kan.
Sentencing is set for April 19. The parties have agreed to recommend a sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole.
The Overland Park Police Department and the FBI investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Martin is prosecuting. This case is being prosecuted as part of the Justice Department’s Project Safe Childhood. For more information, see www.projectsafechildhood.gov .
