ERIC F. MELGREN
Melgren received his undergraduate degree from Wichita, State University in 1979 where he graduated magna cum laude. In 1985, he graduated in the top 5 percent of his class from the Washburn University School of Law, Topeka, Kansas. Following graduation, Melgren served as a law clerk for the Honorable Frank G. Theis, United States Judge for the District of Kansas. In 1987, Melgren joined the law firm of Foulston Siefkin, L.L.P., in Wichita, Kansas. He was made a partner of that firm in June of 1992 and he continued his practice there until his appointment as United States Attorney for the District of Kansas. Melgren has been active in the community, serving as President of Wichita State University Alumni Association, Chairman of the Board of United Way of the Plains, Co-chairman of his public school's bond campaign, Trustee Chairman of Leadership Wichita, and Chairman of the Mental Health Association. He has also been active with the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations and Christian Legal Society. While in private practice, he was a frequent lecturer at various legal seminars. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Kansas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
