DEFENDANT SENTENCED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING IN CASE GENERATED BY ATF OPERATION
KANSAS CITY, KAN. – Kevin D. Mansaw, Jr., 25, Kansas City, Kan., has been sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for distributing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kan., U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch said today.
In March 2009, Mansaw pleaded guilty to one count of distributing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school. In his plea, Mansaw admitted that on three occasions from July 23, 2008, to Aug. 26, 2008, he sold crack cocaine to undercover agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives working on a special operation targeting drug and firearms offenses in Kansas City, Kan.
Welch commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Assistant U.S. Attorney David Zabel for their work on the case.
