OLATHE MAN SENTENCED TO 12+ YEARS FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD PORN
INCLUDING MOVIES OF PRESCHOOL RAPE VICTIMS

KANSAS CITY, KAN. – Cole A. Dugger, 23, Olathe, Kan., has been sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography, Acting U.S. Attorney Marietta Parker said today.

In November 2008, Dugger pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography. The investigation began in February 2007 when an FBI agent used the file sharing program Limewire to search for images of child pornography on the Internet. In his plea, Dugger admitted that the agent was able to use Limewire to download child pornography from a hard drive on a computer in Dugger’s home in Olathe. The images included photos of nude prepubescent girls with genitals exposed.

Investigators served a search warrant at Dugger’s home in Olathe and seized his computer equipment. Examiners at the Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory found 227 images and 37 movies on Dugger’s computer containing child pornography. The movies included a 7-minute clip in which an adult male removes an infant girl’s diaper and penetrates her vagina. In another movie, a girl about 9 years old cries in pain while she is sexually abused.

Examiners with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identified images on Dugger’s computer from 13 known series of child pornography that are widely distributed on the Internet. The known images were produced in various places including Germany, France, England and South Carolina.

Parker commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Martin for their work on the case. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Department of Justice aimed at protecting children from online exploitation and abuse.
