Elsmere Man Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison for Distributing Child Pornography

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 19, 2012

COVINGTON, KY - An Elsmere, Ky., man was sentenced today to 14 years in federal prison for distributing child pornography over the internet.

U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning sentenced 24-year-old Preston Warner for distribution of child pornography. Judge Bunning ordered Warner to be on supervised release for 20 years following the completion of his prison term. Warner will also have to register as a sex offender for life.

Court documents show that in June 2010, Warner distributed images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Some of the child pornography images showed children who were under the age of 12 while other images were sadistic and violent in nature.

The investigation started when an FBI agent in Florida identified child pornography images that were available for download over an internet file sharing network. The agent traced the images back to Warner’s computer. The FBI executed a search warrant on Warner’s Elsmere home and located thousands of child pornography images on his computer.

Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky and Perrye Turner, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, jointly made the announcement today.

The case was investigated by the FBI. The U.S. Government was represented by the Fort Mitchell Branch Office of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Warner must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence.
