Lexington, KY. —Adauto Renteral-Salazar, 32, of Mexico was sentenced today to 10 months in prison for re-entering the United States after previously being deported.

In June of 2009, Renteral-Salazar pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted he was an alien and was knowingly and unlawfully present in Clark County, KY. in March of this year.

He also admitted that he had not obtained the consent of the Attorney General of the United States, or his successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, to seek admission back into the United States. Renteral-Salazar was indicted in May of 2009.

James A. Zerhusen, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and John Korkin, Supervisory Deportation Officer, United States Bureau of Immigration and Detention and Removal, jointly made the announcement today after the sentencing.

The investigation was conducted by the Immigration and Detention and Removal. The United States was represented by Assistant United States Attorney David A. Marye.
