Lexington, KY. —Billy Eugene Walters, 43, of Richmond, KY. was sentenced
today to 70 months in prison by United States Senior District Court Judge Joseph M. Hood
for possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and
possession of a firearm while under a Domestic Violence Order.
In February of 2009, Walters pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted that he received a package that contained more than 50 grams of methamphetamine from Hispanic individuals and intended to distribute the methamphetamine in Madison County.
Under federal law, Walters must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence and upon release will be under the supervision of the United States Probation Office for eight years.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Richmond Police Department. The United States was represented by Assistant United States Attorney Roger W. West.
