ALABAMA MAN INDICTED ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE

PADUCAH, KY - A federal grand jury in Paducah returned an indictment on April 8, 2008, against Jacob Randall Armstrong, age 28, of Ohatchee, Calhoun County, Alabama on charges of knowingly and intentionally possessing with the intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges on or about September 5, 2007, that Armstrong aided and abetted by others known and unknown to the Grand Jury, knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine, its salts, isomers and salts of its isomers. The methamphetamine recovered by law enforcement has a street value of approximately $1,300.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 40 years imprisonment and minimum potential penalties are 5 years imprisonment, a $2,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of 4 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michele Thielhorn, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Kentucky State Police and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.

The indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation
only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless
proven guilty.
