LOUISVILLE MAN INDICTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO ENTICE A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL ACTIVITY

LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Anthony Anderson, age 45, of Louisville, Kentucky, for using the Internet in an attempt to entice a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity, Acting United States Attorney, Candace G. Hill, announced today. Anderson “chatted” on the Internet with an undercover Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Crimes Against Children Unit (CACU) Detective whom he believed was a 14-year-old girl. During the course of those communications, Anderson attempted to persuade the "girl" to come to his residence to engage in sexual activity and even paid for a taxicab as an easy mode of transportation.

In the event of a conviction on the current charge, Anderson faces a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison.

Acting United States Attorney Candace G. Hill praised the efforts of the LMPD CACU for their effective response to these very serious offenses.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
