LARUE COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSING AND DISTRIBUTING METHAMPHETAMINE
– Indictment alleges four separate sales in two counties

LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Mickey S. Tedder, age 56, of Buffalo, Kentucky, in Larue County, for possessing and distributing methamphetamine powder, Acting United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges that on four occasions between April 14 and May 12, 2009, Tedder possessed with the intent to distribute and distributed various quantities of methamphetamine. The street value of the methamphetamine involved in this case is approximately $9,400.

According to the Indictment, Tedder possessed with the intent to distribute and distributed methamphetamine powder in Larue County on April 14, 2009 and in Hardin County on April 21, 2009. Later, the Indictment alleges, Tedder possessed with the intent to distribute and distributed five grams or more of methamphetamine on May 2, 2009 in Hardin County, and that on May 12, 2009, he possessed with the intent to distribute and distributed fifty grams or more of methamphetamine in Larue County.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are life imprisonment, a $12,000,000 fine, and lifetime period of supervised release; and the minimum potential penalties are 5 years’ imprisonment and supervised release for a period of 4 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas W. Dyke, and it was investigated by the Greater Hardin County Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Tedder is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on August 18, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in Louisville, Kentucky.
