THREE FLORIDIANS INDICTED FOR SELLING OXYCONTIN IN LOUISVILLE
– Over 4,700 pills recovered

LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Stanford Lee Young, age 63, Sheila Young, age 34, and Matthew Young, age 54, all of Tampa, Florida, on charges of conspiring to distribute, and distributing Oxycontin, Acting United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges that between May 2009 and July 8, 2009, the defendants conspired to sell Oxycontin in Louisville, Kentucky. The indictment also alleges that the defendants distributed Oxycontin on June 4, 2009, July 7, 2009, and July 8, 2009. A criminal complaint was obtained against the three defendants on July 7, 2009, and on July 8, 2009, Sheila and Matthew Young were arrested in Louisville, and Stanford Young was arrested in Tampa. At the time of their arrest, Sheila and Matthew Young had over 1,000 pills, and an additional 3,700 Oxycontin pills were found in the Young home in Tampa.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 80 years’ imprisonment, a $4,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of at least 3 years.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Weiser, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

All of the defendants are scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on August 18, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.

only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless
proven guilty.
