FORMER PHARMACY EXPRESS OWNER SENTENCED FOR DISTRIBUTING HYDROCODONE
– Distributed hydrocodone to former Glasgow Police Officers Johnny Travis and Maxie Murray
BOWLING GREEN, KY - Hunter Patton Vann, age 39, of Glasgow, Kentucky, in Barren County, was sentenced to 2 years’ probation in United States District Court, Bowling Green, Kentucky, for distributing hydrocodone without a valid prescription, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. Thomas B. Russell, Chief Judge, United States District Court, also imposed a fine of $5,000.
Vann had plead guilty to distributing hundreds of hydrocodone pills to former Glasgow Police Officers Johnny Travis and Maxie Murray. Travis and Murray pled guilty in April 2009 to illegally possessing hydrocodone and tampering with a witness. Vann also admitted that he stole hydrocodone and codeine cough syrup for his own personal use. Hydrocodone is an addictive Schedule III pain reliever available only by prescription.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Weiser, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Barren County Drug Task Force.
