BOWLING GREEN MAN SENTENCED FOR THEFT
– Postal worker stole $18,680 from Union's bank account

LOUISVILLE, KY - Richard M. Clark, age 61, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was sentenced on September 14, 2009, in United States District Court, Bowling Green, to three years’ probation, with a condition of home detention for six months, for embezzling funds from a labor organization, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. In addition, U.S. District Court Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. imposed a fine of $2,000 and restitution in the amount of $18,680. Clark is to pay the cost of monitoring home detention.

Clark, who was a U.S. Postal worker and treasurer for Branch 468 of the National Association of Letter Carriers, pled guilty to embezzling $18,680 out of the union's bank account between January 2002 and July 2007.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James H. Barr and it was investigated by the U.S. Department of Labor.
