LARUE COUNTY MAN SENTENCED FOR TRAFFICKING COCAINE

LOUISVILLE, KY - Colby A. Barbour, age 31, of Buffalo, Kentucky, in Larue County, was sentenced to 3 years’ and 1 month imprisonment for possessing over 500 grams of cocaine with the intent to distribute, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. John G. Heyburn, Judge, United States District Court, also sentenced Barbour to 4 years’ supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

Barbour had previously pled guilty and admitted that on November 26, 2008, he delivered a bag containing 999.7 grams of cocaine to a co-defendant, Charles Moffitt. Police discovered the cocaine after having arranged to purchase the narcotics from Moffitt through a confidential informant. The approximate street value of the cocaine seized was $23,000.

The case was being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert B. Bonar, and it was investigated by the Kentucky State Police.
