LA CENTER CHIROPRACTOR SENTENCED TO 21 MONTHS FOR FAILING TO FILE TAX RETURNS
– Must pay $94,870 restitution
PADUCAH, KY - Charles L. Boulton, age 61, of La Center, Kentucky, in Ballard County, was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months’ imprisonment yesterday in United States District Court, Paducah, Kentucky, for willfully failing to file federal personal income tax returns, U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. Thomas B. Russell, Chief Judge, United States District Court, also sentenced Boulton to 1 year of supervised release following imprisonment. He also ordered Boulton to pay restitution in the amount of $94,870. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.
Boulton, who was found guilty by a federal jury on June 15, 2009, of five counts of willfully failing to file federal personal income tax returns, provided drug and alcohol tests to truck driving schools and transportation companies in Western Kentucky. Between the tax years 2001 to 2006, he earned gross income totaling $495,600, and did not file income tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service for those years.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Judd and it was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigative Division.
