LOUISVILLE MAN SENTENCED FOR THEFT
– Embezzled $13,130 from labor organization

LOUISVILLE, KY - Daniel Lee Reynolds, age 51, of Louisville, Kentucky, was placed on 6 months’ probation in United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky, for embezzling $13,130 from his labor union’s bank account, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. Reynolds was sentenced by John G. Heyburn II, Judge, United States District Court. In addition, restitution in the amount of $13,130 was imposed.

Reynolds had pled guilty to embezzling the money between March 2003 and January 2006 while president of Steelworkers/PACE Local 05-1737. He made withdrawals from the union's bank account and transferred funds to his personal bank account.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James H. Barr and it was investigated by the U.S. Department of Labor.
