LOUISVILLE MAN INDICTED FOR MAKING AND PASSING COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY
LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Charles James Taylor, age 33, of Louisville, Kentucky, in Jefferson County, on charges of making and passing counterfeit $20 Federal Reserve Notes, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.
The Indictment alleges that in July 2009, Taylor made counterfeit $20 Federal Reserve Notes, and that Taylor passed counterfeit $20 Federal Reserve Notes on July 16, 2009.
In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 40 years’ imprisonment, a $500,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of 3 years.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Weiser, and it was investigated by the Louisville Metro Police Department and the United States Secret Service.
Taylor is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on November 17, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
