LOUISVILLE WOMAN CHARGED WITH MAKING FALSE STATEMENT ON PASSPORT APPLICATION
LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Donnikia Shantal Jefferson, age 27, of Louisville, Kentucky, in Jefferson County, for making a false statement in an application for a U.S. passport, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.
The Indictment alleges that on or about January 24, 2007, Jefferson submitted an application for a U.S. Passport which contained a photograph of another individual. The Indictment charges Jefferson with violations of Title 18 United States Code, Section 1001 and 1542. In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 15 years’ imprisonment, a $500,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of 3 years.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael A. Bennett, and it was investigated by the United States Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service.
Jefferson is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on January 19, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.

only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless
proven guilty.
