FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EAN G. ARIBOINOTE, a/k/a Jean Aiboinote, Jean Airport, Jean Ariboinche, Jean Ariboinote, Jean Beynorth, Jean Beynortn, Wesley Boinote, Wisley Boinote, Jean Bonette, Jean Byenorth, Jean Geurson Byenorth, Jean Byenortn, Jean Eriss, Jean Erris, Jean Airointe, Jean G. Byenorth, Jeamard Lewis, Jean Lewis, Jeanard Lewis, Jeanard Louis, Jean Pierre, and James Wright, age 28, was charged in a one-count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury for reentry of a deported alien previously convicted of an aggravated felony, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, on or about June 15, 2007, ARIBOINOTE, an alien who had previously been removed and deported from the Untied States, was unlawfully found in Jefferson Parish, without the Attorney General of the Untied States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to the defendant’s reapplication into the United States.
ARIBOINOTE was convicted of trafficking in cocaine, unlawful possession, sale, manufacture or delivery of cocaine on or about October 5, 1998 in the Circuit Court for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Dale County Florida. Because of this conviction, if the defendant is convicted of a violation of Title 8, U.S.C. Section 1326(a), the defendant’s sentence will be subject to a maximum sentence of imprisonment for not more than 20 years.
U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case was investigated by Special Agents of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Julia K. Evans.
