NEW ORLEANS MAN SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON IN FIREARMS AND DRUG CASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LARRY G. HARRISON, JR., age 40, a resident of New Orleans, LA, was sentenced by U. S. District Ivan L.R. Lemelle to sixty (60) months imprisonment for being in receipt of a firearm subsequent to indictment and possession of more than 5 grams of crack with intent to distribute, announced U. S Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, HARRSION pled guilty on January 30, 2008, to a two count indictment for receipt of firearm while under indictment for the felony charges and for possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine. The Court imposed a sentence withing the recommended guidelines range. After sentencing, LARRY G. HARRISON, JR. was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service to begin his term of imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the New Orleans Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as part of the Department of Justice’s Violent Crime Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Brian J. Capitelli.
