FEDERAL JURY RETURNS GUILTY VERDICT ON FIREARMS AND DRUG CHARGES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRIAN MASSEY, a 21 year-old resident of Marrero, Louisiana was convicted yesterday by a federal jury sitting in New Orleans of numerous federal drug and firearms violations, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
Specifically, MASSEY was convicted of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack); distribution of 5 grams or more of cocaine base (crack); distribution of quantities of cocaine base (crack); possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; distributing 5 grams or more of cocaine base (crack); possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack), and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. MASSEY faces a possible maximum term of life imprisonment.
This case was investigated by Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Officers of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff Department. This matter was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Theodore Carter and Brian Capitelli.
