NEW ORLEANS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL GUN CHARGES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PERRY L. TAYLOR, a/k/a James J. Holland, age 55, a resident of New Orleans, LA, pled guilty to a one-count indictment previously returned by a Federal Grand Jury for being a felon in possession of a firearm, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to the factual basis, NOPD officers conducted a pedestrian stop after observing TAYLOR, who appeared intoxicated, staggering along the street. A subsequent search revealed that TAYLOR had a Colt .357 6-shot revolver in his waistband. Subsequent investigation revealed that TAYLOR was previously convicted of armed robbery on April 6, 1994 in Orleans Parish for Armed Robbery.
TAYLOR faces a maximum term of imprisonment of ten (10) years, a fine of $250,000.00 and three (3) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment and $100 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the New Orleans Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brian Capitelli.
