MAN PLEADS GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT TO HEROIN AND COCAINE CONSPIRACY

COREY MUSE, a/k/a Lambert, age 30, a resident of Houston, Texas, pled guilty in federal court to a Superseding Bill of Information charging him with one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine hydrochloride and 1 or more kilograms of heroin, announced U. S .Attorney Jim Letten.
According to the factual basis, MUSE supplied heroin and cocaine hydrochloride for distribution in New Orleans. The court documents indicate that MUSE was responsible for distributing a total quantity of 15 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and over 1 kilogram of heroin. MUSE has been in custody since his arrest in September, 2007 when Special Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Louisiana State Police intercepted three kilograms of cocaine as it was being transported from Houston to New Orleans. MUSE is the fourth member of this multi-defendant drug conspiracy to plead guilty.
The defendant faces a minimum sentence of twenty (20) years and a possible maximum of life imprisonment, $8 million in fines and a minimum of ten (10) years of supervised release.
The investigation was conducted by the Louisiana State Police and Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Emily Greenfield.
