HARVEY WOMAN SENTENCED FOR CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ACCESS DEVICE FRAUD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RIVA CARR, age 24, a resident of Harvey, Louisiana, was sentenced in federal court today by U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon to a three (3) year term of probation and a $100 special assessment for access device fraud, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten today. In addition, CARR was ordered to pay $2,968.85 restitution to ALLTEL Wireless.

According to court documents, a Bill of Information was filed against CARR in May, 2008 charging that she and others conspired to use stolen credit card numbers to purchase ALLTEL Wireless cellular telephone equipment and airtime. CARR pled guilty as charged on July 30, 2008.

This case was investigated by Special Agents of the Secret Service and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Irene González.
