FEDERAL GRAND JURY INDICTS MAN FOR DISTRIBUTING CRACK COCAINE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LARRY ANDERSON, JR., age 25, a resident of Hammond, Louisiana, was charged in a one-count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury for distributing cocaine base (crack), announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to the indictment, on September 17, 2008, ANDERSON distributed five (5) grams or more of crack cocaine. If convicted, ANDERSON faces a possible maximum sentence of forty (40) years imprisonment, a fine of up to $2 million and four (4) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.
U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Theodore Carter.
