December 10, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JONIE PRATT, age 28, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Sarah S. Vance to two (2) years probation for Bank Larceny, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. PRATT was also ordered to pay $1,500.00 in restitution to Capital One Bank.
According to court documents, during the month of May, 2007, PRATT, a bank teller at Capital One Bank in New Orleans, Louisiana, embezzled money from customer cash deposits or withdrawals on three occasions. Specifically, PRATT either shorted money that customers requested in cash, or she skimmed money from the cash to be deposited and deposited a lesser amount into the customer accounts.
The case was investigated by the Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Information. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Jon Maestri.
