ILLEGAL ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HIBERT BARRIOS-GUITY, age 22, a resident of Honduras, pled guilty in federal court before U. S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt to one count of illegal reentry of deported alien, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, HIBERT BARRIOS-GUITY admitted to being an alien who was previously deported and was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States in Orleans Parish, LA without the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to his re-application for admission into the United States.
HIBERT BARRIOS-GUITY was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 6, 2008. The defendant faces a maximum penalty of two (2) years imprisonment. Sentencing has been scheduled for March 25, 2009 at 9:00 A.M.
The case was investigated by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
