ALIENS SENTENCED FOR IMPROPER ENTRY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LARISA IVANOVNA YUDINA, a/k/a LARISA I. YUDINA, age 48, and ALEKSANDR M. ZARECHNYI, age 50, both residents of Kyrgyzstan, were each sentenced today to serve two (2) years probation by U. S. Magistrate Judge Alma L. Chasez for improper entry by an alien, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. Additionally, the judge ordered that in the event the defendants are deported from the United States, they are not permitted to re-enter without the express permission of the Secretary of Homeland security.

According to court documents, on or about September 23, 1999, LARISA IVANOVNA YUDINA and ALEKSANDR M. ZARECHNYI, both aliens, made misleading statements to U. S. Embassy officials at Bishkek, Krygystan to obtain business visas to enter the United States. After their admission to the United States the business visas expired and the defendants never departed the United States.

The case was investigated by the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
