NEW ORLEANS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL HERION DISTRIBUTION CHARGES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHAD CLARK, age 38, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, pled guilty in federal court yesterday before U.S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman to conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, announced United States Attorney Jim Letten.

In addition, CLARK also acknowledged that he has a prior felony drug conviction. According to factual basis, CLARK admitted that from approximately January, 2009 through April, 2009, he was assisting in the distribution of gram quantities of heroin and sold quantities of heroin to a confidential informant working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

CLARK faces a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a fine of $4,000,000.00,and up to eight (8) years of supervised release. Sentencing is set for February 11, 2010.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Brian J. Capitelli.
