BOSTON, MA - A West Springfield man was charged today in federal court with possessing computer equipment containing child pornography.
United States Attorney Michael K. Loucks and Warren T. Bamford, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in New England, announced today that JEREMIAH J. SALAMON, age 34, of 198 Chilson Road, West Springfield, MA, was charged in an Indictment with one count of possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(4)(B).
The Indictment alleges that on July 30, 2009, SALAMON possessed a computer and computer equipment that contained various digital files that contained depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
If convicted on these charges, SALAMON faces up to 10 years imprisonment, to be followed by a lifetime term of supervised release, and a $250,000.00 fine.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven H. Breslow of Loucks’s Springfield Branch Office.
