The U.S. Attorney’s Office recently received a number of requests for information regarding the mailing of an incendiary device to a home in Newton, Massachusetts in 1993. We will respond to those requests consistent with the policies of the Department of Justice and our obligations under applicable law.

While it would be inconsistent with our legal obligations to release all information related to this incident, we have commenced a thorough review of the information related to this incident to confirm that all appropriate steps were taken in that matter, and to determine whether information related to this incident may be of assistance to other law enforcement agencies. Until that review is complete, we do not intend to make further comment.
