Lowell Man Sentenced for Child Pornography
NOVEMBER 19, 2012

Boston - A Lowell man was sentenced today for charges related to child pornography.

William H. Noble, 47, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton to 81 months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Noble will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison. In May 2012, Noble pleaded guilty to transportation of child pornography.

Noble used peer-to-peer software to trade images and videos of child pornography, and made such images and videos available to others on the Internet. He possessed approximately 4,000 images including those of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit activity.

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz and Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Boston Field Division, made the announcement today. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth G. Shine of Ortiz’s Major Crimes Unit.
