The Community Development Strategy Guide is designed to assist community organizers of all levels with the resources they need to implement and sustain an effective public safety program. The manual contains a two-pronged approach to community development.

First, the manual identifies a strategic process for the development of a comprehensive crime prevention program. Some of the topics discussed in this portion of the manual include: Community Development & Mobilization, Involving Youth in Community Crime Prevention Strategies and Resources for Community Crime Prevention Programs.

The second portion of the manual provides useful grant development and research tips for the community crime prevention strategy. More specifically, this portion of the manual addresses topics including: Proposal Development for Crime Prevention Strategies, Crime Prevention Funding Sources and Advocacy Strategies for Crime Prevention Initiatives.
