Baltimore City Housing
Award: $142,400
Program Abstract: Award provides funding for two (2)
Youth Advocates positions that will provide responsible for providing
intervention services to meet the needs of the youths and their parents or
guardians identified as affiliated or involved with gang by the Baltimore City
School Police, BPD or DJS.

Baltimore Police Department
Award: $149,966
Program Abstract:
Funds are provided for two (2) Outreach Workers hired through the Living
Classrooms Foundation and assigned to the Eastern & Western Districts to
assist youth and families in accessing community-based services targeting gang
prevention solutions. Funds are also
provided overtime for enforcement efforts of the Violent Crime Impact Division
(VCID) and to purchase equipment specific to the Department’s suppression
strategies including ballistics shields and desktop computers.

Funds are provided to assist with ongoing gang enforcement &
suppression initiatives to include equipment, rental vehicles for surveillance,

female associates of known gang members.

Frederick City PD
Award: $82,347
Program Abstract:
Funds were awarded for a specialized camera system for targeted
neighborhoods, enhanced lighting to assist in prevention & detection
efforts, overtime for agency personnel to expand the GREAT program in the
elementary and middle schools. Funds
were also providing for a county-wide School Administrator training on gang
awareness and to extend this awareness to families

Harford County
Award: $148,278
Program Abstract:
Funds were provided for Sheriff’s Deputies to conduct GREAT training,
handle enforcement/suppression efforts and to assist implementing a Youth
Division Explorer program with education materials and transportation. Funds also support a contract with Inner
County Outreach, a non-profit organization and community services arm of a
local church to provide an intervention program to get youth and young adults
away from gangs and illegal gang activities.

Maryland Community Crime Prevention
Institute
Award: $98,513
Program Abstract:
This Award provides for a contractual employee to develop a model
gang-related training program for use by community leaders and citizens and to
also conduct training-for-trainers to facilitate community–based training by
law enforcement agencies throughout the State.

Montgomery County
Award: $128,000
Program Abstract:
This award supports a gang suppression, intervention and prevention
initiative through the coordinated efforts of three (3) County Agencies;
overtime for the Police Department for specialized gang investigation training,
prevention and suppression; enhanced computer & communication capabilities
for the State’s Attorney’s Gang Prosecution Unit and; funding for services from
the County Health and Human Services Office for gang intervention services.

Prince George’s County State’s
Attorney’s Office
Award: $146,386
Program Abstract:
Funds are provided to hire a gang analyst and an investigator to
coordinate with law enforcement regarding gang related investigations and
prosecutions. Funds are also provided
for GIS mapping software, computer equipment and training in intelligence
gathering and analysis.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office
Award: $72,461
Program Abstract:
Funds are provided to hire a full-time gang crime analyst to assist in
ongoing initiatives throughout Washington County. The Gang Analyst began publishing a
bi-monthly “Patrol Report” which is disseminated to Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and Hagerstown PD patrol personnel, parole & probation, Washington
County Detention Center personnel as well as to the Western MD Information
Center. The Report emphasizes validated
member of Security Threat Group’s (STG), officer safety and identifiers
addressed by the Unit.

Wicomico County Partnership for
Families & Children
Award: $129,663
Program Abstract:
Provides funding for a partial off set of the costs of a program
coordinator and for implementing a specialized gang intervention program within
the Wicomico/Salisbury area. The program
consists of job readiness training & placement, street outreach,
educational assessments and support to attain certificates and degrees as well
as leadership development, counseling and case management.

Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office
Award: $89,400
Program Abstract:
Funds are provided for gang suppression & enforcement efforts for
both the Sheriff’s Office and the Salisbury PD to include funding for enhanced
gang training those agencies as well as the States Attorney’s Office. Also funded is a contractual; consultant to
provide gang intelligence for the agencies; establish a graffiti removal
program and a gang hotline.
