MYERSVILLE MAN SENTENCED FOR RECEIVING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
BALTIMORE, Maryland - United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein announces that today U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced Grayson Ramsburg, Jr., age 45, of Myersville, Maryland to 5 years probation for receiving child pornography. As a condition of probation, Ramsburg must serve 6 months home detention on electronic monitoring and 6 months in a halfway house. Judge Blake also ordered that Ramsburg must register as a sex offender.
According to the statement of facts presented at his guilty plea on July 12, 2005, a search warrant was executed at Ramsburg’s home and computer files containing child pornography were found, including some images involving children under the age of twelve. During a subsequent interview with agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Ramsburg admitted to being “involved with” and “exchanging” images of child pornography.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Federal Bureau of Investigation for its work in this case. Mr. Rosenstein also praised Assistant United States Attorney Bonnie S. Greenberg, who prosecuted the case.
