BALTIMORE COCAINE DEALER SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON

 

Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett sentenced Stephen Garland Hayes, age 29, of Baltimore, today to 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.

 

According to his guilty plea, on three occasions from April through May 2008, Hayes conspired with others to distribute cocaine base in the 3300 block area of Elgin Avenue in Baltimore. Law enforcement agents searched Hayes and his car on May 29, 2008 after Hayes arrived in the area to sell cocaine, and seized 53 grams of cocaine base from his car.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Baltimore City Police Department for their investigative work. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorney Christopher J. Romano and Special Assistant United States Attorney Christine M. Siemek, who prosecuted the case.
