BALTIMORE DRUG TRAFFICKER EXILED TO OVER 12 YEARS IN PRISON
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett sentenced Stephen Johnson, age 31, of Baltimore, today to 151 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Judge Bennett enhanced Johnson’s sentence upon finding that he is a career offender based on three previous drug convictions.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Mark R. Chait of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Baltimore Field Division; Baltimore City State’s Attorney Gregg L. Bernstein; and Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III.
According to the plea agreement, Baltimore Police officers executed a search warrant on May 13, 2010 at Johnson’s home and recovered a clear plastic baggie containing cocaine, a gun, $3,204 and 88 live rounds of .38 caliber ammunition.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the ATF, Baltimore Police Department and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for their work in this investigation and thanked Assistant United States Attorney Debra L. Dwyer, who prosecuted the case.
