BALTIMORE FELON EXILED TO 12 YEARS IN PRISON
FOR POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE HEROIN
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced Tony Williams, age 26, of Baltimore, Maryland, today to 12 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute heroin, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein and Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy. Judge Blake enhanced Williams’ sentence upon finding that he was a career offender based on three previous drug convictions.
According to Williams’ plea agreement, on September 18, 2008, law enforcement executed search warrants on Tony Williams and at his residence. Agents recovered at the home a Grendel P12 .380 caliber semiautomatic handgun with an obliterated serial number, located inside a video game console; a gun cleaning kit and a box of 9 mm rounds of ammunition and a magazine loaded with two rounds of 9 mm ammunition; a black bag containing 27 gelatin capsules of heroin; and over 9 grams of heroin and a mixture of quinine and mannitol, used to dilute heroin for street level sale, was recovered from a potato chip can in the kitchen. Agents also recovered drug paraphernalia at the home.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein and Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy thanked the Baltimore City Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein and Ms. Jessamy commended Special Assistant United States Attorney Christine M. Siemek, a cross-designated Baltimore City Assistant State’s Attorney, who prosecuted the case, and Assistant State’s Attorney Jenifer Layman who assisted in the prosecution.
