BALTIMORE FELON EXILED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON
FOR DRUG AND GUN OFFENSES
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced Corey Felder, age 29, of Baltimore, today to 15 years in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release for possessing cocaine for distribution, and possessing guns in furtherance of drug trafficking. Judge Blake further ordered that Felder forfeit two guns, $71,385 and a Land Rover vehicle.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Ava Cooper-Davis of the Drug Enforcement Administration - Washington Field Division; Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy; and Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III.
According to his plea agreement, on July 10, 2008, Baltimore City Police officers searched Felder’s apartment and seized two large bags of marijuana, 345 grams of heroin, a digital scale, a .50 caliber handgun, a loaded .45 pistol and a safe containing over $70,000. Felder was arrested.
In May 2009, DEA agents in Hagerstown, Maryland learned that Felder had been selling large amounts of crack and powder cocaine to an individual located in the Frederick area for approximately six months. On May 29, 2009, DEA agents observed Felder arrive in a silver Land Rover at a location in the Loch Raven area of Baltimore County and contact an individual in a Cadillac who was parked nearby. Law enforcement stopped both the Cadillac and Felder’s Range Rover. Felder was searched and 115.6 grams of cocaine hydrochloride and 250.6 grams of cocaine base were seized.
Mr. Rosenstein thanked the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Task Force for their investigative work and commended Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter M. Nothstein, who prosecuted the case.
