BALTIMORE FELON EXILED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON FOR POSSESSING A GUN
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz sentenced Julious Sexton, age 25, of Baltimore, Maryland, today to 15 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a gun. Judge Motz enhanced Sexton’s sentence upon finding that he is an armed career criminal based on at least three previous convictions for drugs or violent crimes.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Theresa R. Stoop of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Baltimore Field Division; Baltimore City State’s Attorney Gregg L. Bernstein; and Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III.
According to Sexton’s plea agreement, Baltimore Police Department officers executed a search warrant at Sexton’s home on November 10, 2009 and seized a.38 caliber revolver, a .44 caliber revolver and ammunition. Sexton was previously convicted of a felony and was prohibited from possessing a gun.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the ATF, Baltimore Police Department and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for their work in this investigation and thanked Assistant United States Attorney Thiruvendran Vignarajah and Special Assistant United States Attorney Christopher M. Mason, who prosecuted the case.
