BALTIMORE MAN EXILED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON
Baltimore, Maryland - Chief U.S. District Judge Benson Everett Legg sentenced Edward T. Taylor, age 40, of Baltimore today to 10 years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.
According to his guilty plea, on January 8, 2008, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Taylor’s apartment in the 1400 block of East Oliver Street in Baltimore. Taylor, who had been observed during the course of the investigation making suspected narcotics transactions in front of the building, was taken into custody. Officers recovered five plastic bags and one container containing a total of more than 670 grams of cocaine.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy and her office, the Baltimore Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their assistance in the investigation and prosecution. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorney Philip S. Jackson, who prosecuted the case.
