Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. sentenced Marcus Anthony Burk, age 21, of Glen Burnie, today to 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and cocaine hydrochloride, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.

According to his guilty plea, on April 15, 2008, Burk met with an individual at a residence on Silky Oak Court in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. Burk provided ½ ounce of cocaine base to the individual who paid $500. The next day, DEA agents searched the residence and seized over 160 grams of crack cocaine, 543 grams of cocaine hydrocholoride, digital scales and $1,750. Law enforcement had observed Burk at the location on previous occasions.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Drug Enforcement Administration and Anne Arundel County Police Department for their investigative work and commended Assistant United States Attorney Christopher J. Romano, who prosecuted the case.
