HAGERSTOWN DRUG DEALER SENTENCED TO OVER 12 YEARS IN PRISON
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced Chad Sharay Bracy, a/k/a “Po,” age 32, of Hagerstown, Maryland, today to 151 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. At today’s sentencing hearing Judge Blake found Bracy to be a career offender based on two previous narcotics convictions.
According to his guilty plea, during 2008 and 2009, Bracy obtained crack cocaine at the request of customers. Bracy would then meet with the customers at homes connected with the conspiracy or at other predetermined locations, and provide the crack cocaine in exchange for money. During an investigation this year by the Washington County Narcotics Task Force, Hagerstown Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, law enforcement agents were able to obtain evidence of Bracy’s involvement in drug-trafficking, through recorded phone calls, physical surveillance and seizures of drugs.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Washington County Narcotics Task Force and the Hagerstown Police Department for their investigative work. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorneys Michael C. Hanlon and Bryan Giblin, who are prosecuting the case.
